work

I have included a large country garden 'Waterways', a secluded 0.5acre garden 'Embraced', a planting design for a roof garden, a border in a well-established garden in Suffolk.

'Illusion' is a design inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy 'Storm King Wall', an installation at Storm King Art Centre -New York.

'Red Kite' explores the combination of traditional materials and ultra-modern technology in a unusual way.

'From the garden'  is a gallery of loose country floral arrangements.

'Green Clouds'... well, I will let you discover that....

In this section is a selection of projects that showcase my work.

fabiogardens was born with the aim to provide a professional 'help' to those who enjoy being in their gardens all the time; those who seek for advice every now and then; those who love their plants and... those who might even consider welcoming them into their lives as members of their families! ...

The services I offer include completely new landscape and garden designs, planting designs for established gardens, maintenance programme and consultancy.

Design process.

My approach to designing a garden is artistic and takes inspiration from the landscape in which the property is located and from its history. Sometimes a link with an important discovery triggers a series of emotions which influence the design concept.

Once I have visited the site and carried out the interview to learn what are the main requirements, a series of studies begins to inform me on facts that may direct my ideas on one or more ways. There is a lapse of time that has to occur before the next meeting with the client. This offers me the chance to understand my feelings and define the initial concepts.

Usually a choice of three design sketches is what I visit the client with on the second meeting. Mood boards, images, hand drawn sketches all help to convey the ideas and identify what are my clients' likes and dislikes.

Once a concept is selected, the attention is focussed to reveal a gradually more defined design. At this stage, the production of perspectives and 3D models helps the client visualising what the garden might become once established.

There might be a number of changes to be made before a way forward is found. After this point, the design will become less artistic: materials, sections, elevations, setting out plans, and more informations will be produced to make sure the garden is built to our specifications.

The planting will finally be selected and a series of planting plans will determine where every plant - from the largest tree to the smallest corm! - will live, hopefully for a very long time....

To give a taste of my style, I have included here a design for a large country garden 'Waterways', a secluded 0.5acre garden 'Embraced by Yew', a planting design for a roof garden, a border in a well-established and 'busy' garden in Suffolk.

'Illusion' is a design inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy 'Storm King Wall', an installation at Storm King Art Centre -New York.

'Red Kite' explores the combination of traditional materials and ultra-modern technology in a unusual way.

'Cut flowers'  is a gallery of loose country floral arrangements.

'Satisfaction' brings light on the practical side of things.

'Green Clouds'... well this is a bit of a passion...

'Sketchbook'... for those who want to see what happens before!
